Become the next ESN Twente board!

 

On this page you can find some interesting information about what the ESN Twente board does and the 5 main tasks of each function. We change our board every September and are always looking for people who are interested to take place in this board. We are a part-time board. If you are interested or have questions, we would like to hear from you! Please send us an e-mail (info@esntwente.nl) or come by our office (Bastille, 319, open on weekdays in the lunch break).

To apply for a board function, send us a motivational letter + CV. Write why you want to join, your experiences and your function preference (max. 1 A4). 

ESN Twente in short

  • Organizes numerous social, cultural, sportive events for the international community in Enschede throughout the year
  • Organizes 2 introductions (August and February)
  • Works together with the International Office of the UT
  • Participates in national and international meetings with all Dutch and European ESN sections
  • Writes a policy plan at the start of the year (plans, goals, functions)
  • Writes intermediate report halfway the year
  • Writes reports for International Office (evaluations and proposals)
  • Presents ESN at different occasions

President

  • Representation and face of ESN Twente
  • Managing and monitoring ESN Twente foundation
  • Keeping overview of all board tasks and goals
  • Preparing and chairing board meetings
  • Attend national and international meetings

Secretary & Vice-president

  • Close cooperation with the president
  • Taking care of incoming messages
  • Secretary tasks like taking care of office supplies, sending birthday cards
  • Writing the minutes/protocol of meetings
  • Taking care of international administrative tasks

Treasurer

  • Make a budget plan to request subsidies
  • Managing ESN Twente’s money in the booking system
  • Deciding about expenditures and transferring money
  • Close cooperation with external affairs coordinator
  • Have meetings with the cash control committee

External Affairs Coordinator

  • Take care of the sponsorplan (find, contact and contract sponsors (companies))
  • Responsible for fundraising activities and up-to-dateness of contracts
  • Keep contact with international associations in Enschede
  • Keep contact with the UT study associations
  • Take care that ESN plays an active role in the internationalization process

Mentor Coordinator

  • Contact person for all arriving international students
  • Responsible for ESN activities during introductions
  • Find and coordinate mentors that help ESN Twente
  • Make sure all new students are guided at arrival
  • Meet with International Office and Kick-In committee

Activity Coordinator

  • Organise activities (sports, cultural, social)
  • Keep in contact with associations/third parties we collaborate with
  • Write an activity plan for coming year
  • Write evaluation of activities of the previous year
  • Contactperson for students who subscribed to or help with an activity/event

PR Coordinator

  • Writing promotional text for ESN Twente
  • Promoting our events (newsletters, posters, flyers, magazine, website)
  • Coordinate the PR committee
  • Distribute the promotion material
  • Updating and maintaining the website

Everybody together

  • Weekly board meetings
  • Office hours during lunch breaks on weekdays
  • Attend our own events and (inter)national ESN events
  • Be present during introductions (February and August, 2011)
  • Attend meetings and constitution drinks
  • Help out and support the other board members
